An Irish ClassicPosted: September 22, 2013
What kind of food do you associate with Ireland? Potatoes, stew, bacon and cabbage and more potatoes are the usual suggestions. How about a Tayto sandwich? Tayto are the most popular crisps in Ireland and they make a pretty tasty sandwich filler too.
Take two slices of white bread and smother them in butter (preferably Kerrygold). Tip a regular 25g bag of Cheese and Onion Tayto on one slice and top off the lot with the other slice. Enjoy with a hot cup of (Barry’s) tea. Is it healthy and packed with nutrients? Definitely not. Does it make you feel warm and happy? Absolutely! It’s fuss-free comfort food and there’s nothing quite like it.
(it’s also my secret hangover cure but shush, don’t tell anyone ;-)).
