Movie Review: The Sitter

I first saw The Sitter when it came out in the cinema so when it was released on DVD last week; I snapped it up straight away. This has to be the funniest film I’ve seen in a very long time. I think that so many comedies that come out these days tend to feature the best scenes in the previews and then the whole film ends up depending on these two or three key moments.

However The Sitter has genuine laugh-out-loud moments from start to finish. It stars Jonah Hill whose comic timing, tone and expressions throughout the film are perfection. The defiant kids are played by the equally adorable and massively talented Max Records, Landry Bender and Kevin Hernandez.

The story revolves around one night when suspended student Noah reluctantly agrees to babysit for his mom’s friends’ kids.  What follows is a night of complete chaos that starts with Noah being talked into buying drugs from a madcap dealer and doesn’t end until havoc has been wreaked across the city.

The Sitter is an absolute must-see, easily one of the best films to come out so far this year.
